On June 28, 2012 more than 150 participants attended a “professional mixer” near Detroit at the elegant home of Ms. Joumana Kayrouz, a prominent Detroit-area auto-accident attorney, in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The event was organized by Mr. Rami Haddad on behalf of the Lebanese Collegiate Network (LCN) and coordinated by Power Communications. The event was promoted as an opportunity for Lebanese American professionals to network with colleagues from the greater Detroit area and to learn more about several new organizations. Among the organizations represented were: Lebanese Collegiate Network; the Lebanese International Business Council (LIBC); the Lebanese American Heritage Club (LAHC); and the American Friends of the Lebanon Mountain Trail (AFLMT). Other program sponsors included Ms. Kayrouz and MA Engineering. Representing the AFLMT at the event were board member Sabra Purtill and board secretary David Startzell. They shared with the group excerpts from the Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT) 2011 video documentary, produced by the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association with a grant from the AFLMT. In their remarks to the group, Purtill and Startzell encouraged participants to discover the LMT when they have the occasion to visit Lebanon, consider volunteering in some capacity along the LMT, and support the LMT project financially through tax-deductible contributions to the AFLMT.
